New Year Greeting

Dear Club Secretary I trust you and your family had a relaxing Christmas and may I take this opportunity to wish you and all your club members a very happy and successful new year. The second half of the League programme is due to commence on week January 13th and as there are a number of outstanding matches from the first half of the programme outstanding I would ask the clubs involved to arrange for these matches to be played as soon as possible so we can keep the League programme on schedule. I am also looking ahead to the end of season competitions and especially the presentation party which regrettably we were unable to hold last season. But on a positive note I was delighted that the League was able to present Marie Curie Hospice with a cheque for £800 from competitions so we need to continue with are fund raising events to support the tremendous work that Marie Curie does for our community.I trust you have been enjoying the publicity we have been getting from the two local papers the Down Record and Mourne Observer. In addition all matches featured in the papers have also been posted on the Lecale League Blog which has also been well received by clubs and former players who have moved away from the district and have contacted me to say how much they appreciate still being able to stay in touch with the League. When you access the Blog you will see the number of daily hits which currently is in excess of 150. May I also point out the interactive comments at the end of all posts which you can use for your own personal impute on matches etc? Finally the Lecale League WhatsApp Group is an excellent way to keep in touch with what’s happening in the League. We are also on Facebook.
