With Jason Gill unavailable John McEvoy was called up from the B team and his two wins on the night inspired the visitors which were only decided from the last match of the night Pat Mulholland got Owenbeg off to a good start in a tight 5 set win over Colin McKinty. But Mc Conville, one of the best match players in the Lecale league, went on the offensive and got home in 4 sets for a 2-1 lead. Mulholland made it 2 all with his 4 set victory over Trainor but as the match progressed both teams shared game wins but as the match reached the final two matches Strangford had established a 5-4 lead going into the doubles game which Mc Conville and McKinty got home in straight sets for the two points needed to clinched the League title with an unbeaten record and with two matches still to play cannot be caught.
