St Johns B won by 28 points

In a match full of good humoured exchanges watched by the League Secretary which is the norm when two teams from the same clubs meet in a competition it was hard to predict a winner. The A team have been in excellent form throughout this competition and although conceding 20 points expected to win secure a win. John Murphy no stranger to handicap matches was in excellent form finishes his match with Sean Poland 2 points ahead .Vincey Poland added another 12 to the B team total in his match with Terry Murphy before Jim Mills started the comeback for the A team with a 25 point advantage over Brendan Mc Grillen. So at the end of the first round The A team had increased their lead by 9 points to close to call. The A team knew that they need to do better as the second round of matches got underway. But at the end of another round of games it was the B team that kept their noses in front by adding another 2 points to their total. Sean Poland in the first match of their final round found Brendan Mc Grillen in defiant mood and cheered on by skipper Vincey Poland finished 7 points ahead John Magee the big point winner on the night added another 15 to his team total leaving Jim Mills with impossible task against the Vincey Poland who 4 point winning margin round off an excellent season for his team and another trophy for the St John’s club collection.  Congratulations both teams for an enjoyable match.
